Moorside High School is an extremely popular and over-subscribed comprehensive school in the Staffordshire Moorlands.  The school was rated as good in the Ofsted January 2017 inspection.  Pupils’ outcomes at the end of key stage 4 have placed us above, or well above average of schools nationally for the last 3 years.
Required from January 2020, we are seeking to appoint an engaging and inspirational Teacher of English to join our talented and enthusiastic English department.  The successful candidte will be welcomed into our highly supportive team. 
This post is temporary for two terms in the first instance, with a possibillity of the position becoming permanent from September 2020.

TEACHING ASSISTANT GENERAL

LEVEL 2

Grade 3 – Salary £ 18,065 Actual Salary £ 15,617  

32.50 hours per week term time only

Moorside High School is an over- subscribed, smaller than average 11-18 mixed comprehensive with a shared Sixth Form on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

The school was rated as good in the Ofsted January 2017 inspection.  Pupil’s outcomes at the end of key stage 4 have placed us above, or well above average of schools nationally for the last 3 years. 

14% of students are on the SEND register and a dedicated team of 9 Teaching Assistants, an Assistant SENCo and SENCo work with these students. 
The successful candidate would ideally have previous experience of working with children with SEN needs in a school setting. You will need to demonstrate that you are flexible, resilient and have a genuine commitment to special needs education.  “Pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities make good progress compared to others nationally.  This is due to the support they receive from the school’s SEND department.”   Ofsted 2017
