Aims
Business Studies is an option for students in KS4 only. Business Studies is concerned with developing the student’s ability to understand and increase their awareness on the moral, social, ethical and cultural issues within a business environment. We are looking to produce students who have a sound understanding of business and who have the ability to use knowledge, skills and understanding appropriately in the context of the UK and European market.
Students will have opportunities to:
- Make effective use of relevant terminology, concepts and methods and recognise the strengths and limitations of the ideas used;
- Apply their knowledge and critical understanding to current issues and problems in a wide range of appropriate contexts;
- Distinguish between facts and opinions and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data in order to help build arguments and make informed judgements.
Summary of Assessment
Students for this qualification must complete two written exams and a piece of controlled assessment.
